A Study in Isolation is my latest research-based performative and co-creation project investigating the intersection of art and the science of living in space. The project's pilot phase, launched on June 3, will culminate at the Universe Pavilion during the Venice Architecture Biennale 2025.
For this pilot, I've invited multidisciplinary artists Amrit Karki and AMAZUMI to co-create a performance based on their lived experiences of isolation, informed by analog space missions at the LunAres Research Station. The resulting performance emerges from architectures—both real and imagined—constructed under extreme conditions.
This first edition introduces two distinct modes of being in isolation: continuum and disruption.
